Symbology, Pattern Recognition and improving metaphysical function

Updated: Dec 18, 2022

Lately I have been consuming a lot of Jonathan and Mattieu Pageau videos. Both brothers are Christian and exceptionally gifted in the realms of decoding symbology. Jonathans YouTube channel is called, The Symbolic World.

For ever I have been attracted to thinkers that were integrating the feeling aspect into their work. I myself have gone down many rabbit holes into the deepest dark web corners seeking gnosis, (deep knowledge) that often involved high levels of symbology which requires a skill of pattern recognition, intuitive capabilities, and then the connection of complex and often abstract material.

Just like the Bible, it often takes a great deal of subjective theory before we can delayer deeper hidden truths. And it’s also challenging to communicate when we’re debating on what were feeling as we are diving deep, as we all like to be right when we feel something personal and important to us.

I find myself asking how we can get better at leaving room for our subjective experiences as we seek for knowledge and learn how to utilize not just executive functions but rather the metaphysical and “feminine” intuitive gifts that we all have but often find difficult to embody.

Why is it so difficult for modern society to recognize patterns before quick judgements and reactions that often lead to divide and conquer mentality, fragmentations, and polarizations?

It is difficult for modern civilization to recognize patterns and symbology for several reasons. One reason is that modern society tends to place a great emphasis on scientific and logical thinking, which can make it difficult to see the value in symbolic or intuitive ways of thinking. Additionally, the rapid pace of technological and social change in modern society can make it difficult to see patterns or connections that may not be immediately apparent.

Another reason why it can be hard for modern civilization to recognize patterns and symbology is that many people have become disconnected from nature and the natural world. In traditional societies, people often had a deep understanding of the natural world and the symbolic meaning of various elements of nature. However, in modern society, many people are removed from nature and may not have the same level of connection to the natural world. This can make it difficult for people to see the patterns and symbology that are present in nature.

Finally, the constant barrage of information and stimuli in modern society can make it difficult for people to focus and pay attention to the patterns and symbology that are present in their environment. With so much information available, it can be easy for people to get overwhelmed and miss important patterns and connections.

Overall, there are many reasons why it can be difficult for modern civilization to recognize patterns and symbology. These include a focus on logical and scientific thinking, a lack of connection to nature, and the constant barrage of information in modern society.

Metaphysical function

The term "metaphysical function" refers to a concept in philosophy and psychology that relates to the way individuals understand and make sense of the world around them. The metaphysical function is concerned with understanding the underlying nature of reality and the fundamental principles that govern the world.

In psychology, the metaphysical function is often associated with the process of individuation, which is the process of becoming an individual who is separate from others. During this process, individuals develop their own unique understanding of the world and their place in it. This can involve exploring different philosophical and spiritual ideas, as well as forming their own beliefs and values.

In philosophy, the metaphysical function is often associated with the branch of philosophy known as metaphysics, which is concerned with understanding the fundamental nature of reality. Metaphysical philosophers often seek to answer questions such as "What is the nature of existence?" and "What is the nature of reality?" These questions are often considered to be beyond the scope of science and are instead approached through philosophical reasoning and contemplation.

How to improve intuitive thinking to recognize patterns

To improve intuitive thinking and recognize patterns, you can try the following strategies:

  1. Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness is the practice of focusing on the present moment and observing your thoughts and feelings without judgment. This can help you develop a greater awareness of yourself and your surroundings, which can improve your ability to recognize patterns.

  2. Spend time in nature: Nature is full of patterns and regularities that can help you develop your intuitive thinking skills. Try spending time in natural environments and observing the patterns you see, such as the way leaves fall or the way birds fly.

  3. Engage in creative activities: Creative activities, such as drawing, painting, or writing, can help you develop your intuition and pattern recognition skills. By engaging in creative activities, you can learn to see connections and patterns that you might not have noticed before.

  4. Practice meditation: Meditation is a practice that involves focusing your attention on a particular object or thought. By regularly practicing meditation, you can improve your ability to focus and pay attention to the patterns and connections around you.

  5. Try new things: Trying new things can help you develop your intuition and pattern recognition skills. By stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying new experiences, you can expose yourself to new patterns and connections that you might not have noticed before.
